For a clear, controlled release (“OUT”) during structured training sessions, the Echelon K9 Outstick is a specialized tool developed in partnership with professional K-9 handlers.

When used correctly, the Outstick supports communication between dog and handler by gently stimulating a natural reflex response—without restricting airflow or applying force.

Intended Use

The Echelon K9 Outstick is intended for experienced handlers and trainers working within a structured training program.

Gently place the Outstick on the dog’s neck or upper airway area to trigger the reflex. As soon as the dog releases, reward immediately — this reinforces a clean and conflict-free OUT. Always supervise training carefully! (Please note that only minimal pressure is required.)

It is not a punishment device and should only be used with proper instruction and supervision.

• Only minimal pressure is required—force is unnecessary.
• Contact must be brief and immediately released once the dog disengages.
• The tool must never restrict breathing or be held in place.
• Reward immediately after release to reinforce correct behavior.
• Always supervise training carefully.
• (Comparable to the brief, non-restrictive pressure used by a medical professional with a tongue depressor.)

• Not intended for use by inexperienced handlers without professional guidance.
• Do not use on puppies or dogs with respiratory, cervical, or medical conditions.
• Do not apply sustained pressure or compress the throat or airway.
• Do not modify the tool or use it as leverage or restraint.
• Improper use may result in injury.

The pointed rear end is intended only for emergency use (e.g., window breaking).
It is not part of the dog training application and must never be used on an animal.
