The jury is still out as I ordered a different size collar and it hasn't yet arrived. I originally ordered the 3.0 Short for my 55 pound German Shorthair Pointer 1.5 year old. When I got the collar and tried it I found it much to heavy for her neck. She is a shorthair and has a 15.5 inch neck. Therefore I returned it for a 2.25 Ultra Plus Training Collar with the hopes that it will fit her better. I did get the extra links as well as the click lock. My first issue is why is the 2.25 for up to 40 pounds and the next size up for up to 88 pounds? Nothing in between. Next, I tried doing an exchange but the process was cumbersome and in the long run I see there was a 16 dollar service charge for the exchange. So that on top of the original shipping charges seems pretty exorbitant. Instead, I did a return and just reordered using the code sent by email recently for free shipping. I am hoping I love the collar and it helps with pulling. I have tried several collars including gentle leads that go around her nose, and although this helps with pulling she is able to reach up and swipe it off of her nose, and as a bird dog I was afraid that the pressure on her nose might affect her sense of smell.

Works great needed upgrade for my 75lb dog

This is my first time using a prong collar, and after doing research, it was clear that the Herm Sprenger collar was highly rated. The collar has not disappointed, we have been using it on our six-month-old Great Dane and the difference it has made is night and day. The black steel also looks super sleek. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the plastic sliding lock on the buckle constantly falls off and so you have to be extremely careful not to lose it - it's very annoying.
