During production in our factory in Iserlohn, the strip material is twisted and the result is the typical character of the round link chain, which is reminiscent of a tightly knitted stitch. Chains with round links are one of the most stable types of chain, and the tightly intertwined links make this type of chain collar particularly suitable for short-coated dog breeds.
We produce round link chains made of different materials, in different wire gauges and designs (classic round link chain or additionally flat polished for extra shine) as well as a variety of models (martingale collar or choke style).
Not sure which wire gauge is right for your four-legged friend? Chain collars with round links with 3 mm wire are particularly suitable for medium-sized dogs, such as Australian Cattle Dogs, Beagles and Dalmatians.

This collar is made from rust-proof material, making it ideal for coastal and humid environments and suitable for all weather conditions. To maintain its appearance, the collar can be cleaned with water and a mild dish soap. We recommend occasional polish with Herm-Sprenger Diamond Paste or an equivalent product to maintain the shine. Please note that this product contains nickel, which can occasionally cause fur discoloration, especially in light-coated dogs. This color change is harmless and can usually be washed out with a few applications of mild soap and water. Remember to regularly inspect your Herm-Sprenger metal collar for bent prongs, damaged chain, warped rings, or other signs of weakness. While bent prongs can be gently adjusted with pliers, for any other concerns please contact our customer experience team for advice.Stainless Steel Black

This color change is harmless and can usually be washed out with a few applications of mild soap and water. Remember to regularly inspect your Herm-Sprenger metal collar for bent prongs, damaged chain, warped rings, or other signs of weakness. This material is NOT stainless and can rust over time, so we recommend always drying the collar off when wet. The collar can be cleaned with water and a mild, non-abrasive soap, then thoroughly dried. Please note that Herm-Sprenger Diamond Paste is NOT recommended for this material as it may damage the finish. While this material has an anti-rust coating, wear and tear can affect it over time. If you live near the coast or if your dog gets wet often, we recommend trying the Stainless Steel version instead.
