With our chain collar made of stainless steel, your four-legged friend is ready for the next training session. The robust material is rustproof, withstands wind and weather during extensive walks and is also ideal for water lovers. The medium chain links are especially coat-friendly and reduce hair breakage on long and fine coats. As the chain has to be slipped over the dog's head, you should also take the head circumference into account when choosing the right size! We recommend collars with a ClicLock or SPRENGER hook for dogs with a significantly larger head than neck circumference.
The new chain collars made of only 2mm thick stainless steel are much more durable, safer and easier to clean than conventional collars made of nylon or leather. In addition, they look absolutely awesome on every fur length.
Not sure which wire gauge is right for your four-legged friend? Chain collars with 2 mm strength are particularly suitable for small dogs, e.g. Dachshunds, French Bulldogs, Jack Russels, Pugs and West Highland Terriers.
For the quality stainless steel black, a galvanic process is used to blacken the surface of the material, then polished. Since it’s not a permanent coating, an attractive antique finish will result from friction during use.
We therefore recommend that dogs with very light or white coats use a chain made of CUROGAN to reduce the risk of coat discoloration.
We suggest adding a minimum of 3-4" to your dog's neck measurement to ensure ease of use & fit.

This collar is made from rust-proof material, making it ideal for coastal and humid environments and suitable for all weather conditions. To maintain its appearance, the collar can be cleaned with water and a mild dish soap. However, we do NOT recommend the use of Herm-Sprenger Diamond Paste or other abrasive cleaners with this product, as these may damage the finish. Over time, the finish may naturally discolor, especially around areas of heavy wear, which gives the collar an attractively aged appearance. Please note that this product contains nickel, which can occasionally cause fur discoloration, particularly in light-coated dogs. This color change is harmless and can usually be washed out with a few applications of mild soap and water. Remember to regularly inspect your Herm-Sprenger metal collar for bent prongs, damaged chain, warped rings, or other signs of weakness. While bent prongs can be gently adjusted with pliers, for any other concerns please contact our customer experience team for advice.
