What is a NeckTech Collar?
Our patent-pending NeckTech design was created to offer a stable and reliable alternative to traditional prong, chain, and flat collars. The NeckTech collar is about 3/4" wide, similar in width to many nylon or biothane collars, and has a sleek, flat look.
What is a NeckTech Sport Collar?
The NeckTech Sport is a robust alternative to the classic prong training collar. While it looks like a flat collar from the outside, it features specially designed prongs on the inside. These prongs mimic a dog’s fang teeth, providing a more natural influence on your dog. Their unique shape and wider design make them especially effective for dogs with short fur, allowing for sensitive communication.
As with any prong collar, we recommend introducing the NeckTech Sport with the guidance of an experienced dog trainer, as well as pairing it with a safety clip & back up collar.
SPRENGER NeckTech vs. Prong Collar
As mentioned, our NeckTech Sport is an alternative to our classic ULTRA-PLUS Training collars. While they may look different, they share some key features. The NeckTech Sport uses a similar arrangement of links around a middle plate or ClicLock closure, allowing for synchronized link movement that enhances communication.
Our traditional prong training collars come in various models, including those with assembly chains, swivels, and different hooks or closures. If you prefer the sleek look of the NeckTech Sport but want features from our ULTRA-PLUS Training collars, consider pairing them with one of our prong collar covers for a similar aesthetic.
What is a NeckTech Fun Collar?
At first glance, the NeckTech Fun looks just like the NeckTech Sport. While it’s made from the same high-quality materials, there’s a key difference: the NeckTech Fun is not a prong collar! The inner links are flat, combining the benefits of chain and flat collars—ideal for larger dogs that need a more substantial collar without sacrificing comfort. Even better, they don't absorb water so say goodbye to stinky dog collars!
How Do I Adjust a NeckTech Collar?
One of the standout features of the NeckTech collar is its adjustability. You can lengthen or shorten it without damaging or permanently altering the collar. Simply remove or add individual links as needed. This makes it perfect for growing pups or dogs whose neck size changes due to shedding or other factors.
To adjust the NeckTech, gently bend the links open from the inside. A flat-head screwdriver can sometimes make this process a bit easier. You can then slide the links apart or together to achieve your desired length. Once adjusted, reconnect the end links and secure them by bending the links back down to prevent accidental opening. Why Are There Only Two Sizes for the NeckTech?
We offer the SPRENGER NeckTech in two basic sizes, but don’t worry—it's still suitable for dogs with larger or smaller neck circumferences! Each link adds or removes about 1" from the collar. You can also purchase additional links in both color options in packs of two directly from us.
NeckTech Materials, Colors, and Models
Choosing the right NeckTech collar for you and your dog depends on various factors. All our NeckTech collars are made of stainless steel, ensuring you get a durable and long-lasting product that can withstand any environment—even salty seawater!
Currently, you can choose from stainless steel silver, matte silver, and matte black for your NeckTech. Mix and match to suit your style!
Note: We do not recommend using metal polish on black and matte chains, as it can damage their unique finish.
Our NeckTech comes in two main versions: with and without assembly chains. Choose based on your needs, training goals, and usage scenarios. Both versions are available as the NeckTech Sport and NeckTech Fun.
Is the NeckTech CUROGAN Matte Still Available?
The NeckTech CUROGAN matte is currently out of production, but you may find remaining stocks at select retailers and on closeout here on hermsprengerusa.com.
