Asa's story shows how a sense of duty and the need to protect can become a new life purpose. His dogs are more than companions – they are his family, for whom he is there, whom he protects, and for whom he cares with dedication. A life shaped by responsibility, connection, and unconditional care.

From Chef to Dog Trainer with Heart and Mind

Episode 2: Jonathan

Jonathan’s path has taken him from the kitchens of New York, through service in a Bomb Detection Squad in Israel, to Waco, Texas, where he now runs his own dog training school, teaching people to truly understand their four-legged companions – with patience, communication, and deep respect for the human-dog relationship.

Jonathan embodies reinvention, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to learning from the animals who once worked alongside him.

Hunter and Conservationists by Tradition

Episode 3: Patrick

Patrick is a hunter in Düren, Germany. He comes from a family of foresters and hunters on his mother's side and was introduced to hunting by his grandfather.

Patrick's story shows a deep connection to nature and tradition – including with dogs. For him, hunting is active nature conservation and part of the natural cycle of life – which is why the respectful use and processing of the animals he hunts is also important to him. His work with dogs combines craftsmanship, responsibility, and respect for nature.

Dogs, Nature, and Community

Episode 4: Austin & Haley

Austin and his wife have built a life in New England centered around dogs and the outdoors. They lead outdoor excursions where dogs, as a pack, explore forests and landscapes – not as clients, but as part of the family.

Austin's story reveals the quieter side of working with dogs: one where community, nature, and shared experiences are paramount, and dogs flourish through experience rather than instruction.

Dog Sports as a Passion and Way of Life

Episode 5: Vivian and Tim

Vivian and Tim live in Northern Germany and are active in dog sports. They train with their two dogs on their own training grounds. Together, they discovered their passion for dog sports.

Vivian and Tim's story shows how dogs become more than pets – they are sports partners, family, and the center of their daily lives. Travel, training, and life are organized around the dogs. Their work with the animals combines dedication, partnership, and the joy of growing as a team, both in sports and in life.

Passion for Working Dogs Since Youth

Episode 6: Ben

Ben is a hunting dog trainer in Richlands, North Carolina, and his passion for working dogs began as a teenager. His deep understanding of drive, discipline, and partnership led him from hunting dogs to training military and police dogs, where he is now known as a respected trainer for his practical and straightforward approach.

Ben shows that what started as a fascination with dogs and training as a teenager can gradually develop into a lifelong calling.

Work and Life in Harmony with Animals

Episode 7: Anne Krüger-Degener
